Travel Tuesday :: Lijiang, China

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

On this Travel Tuesday, I bring you a little wanderlust love. For those who know me, know my love for travel and my constant desire to experience different cultures. Back in 2011, I had the opportunity to spend a summer in Shanghai and while I was there, I was able to travel around China. This post is specifically inspired by my visit to the province of Yunnan and the city of Lijiang, which was absolutely beautiful! The charm of Old Town Lijiang is like no other and the people are nothing short of amazing.

A visit to Yunnan province is not complete until you visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, a sacred mountain to the Naxi ethnic minority group. So as I made my way over to the mountain and explored Jade Water Village, I captured this lovely bride and groom taking their wedding pictures...

And with the natural beauty and amazing backdrops that surround Jade Mountain, it's no wonder why I witnessed this couple--I would take my wedding and/or engagement pictures here in a heartbeat.

Here are a few more images, I captured on my visit...

Springtime Vibes :: Ranunculus love!

Friday, April 3, 2015

Springtime is officially here and my heart couldn't be any happier--I just love seeing everything come alive and bloom! I recently had the opportunity to visit The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, where I was able to witness acres upon acres of ranunculus, which led to the inspiration for this post. I absolutely love ranunculus, not only are they pretty to look at but they also come in so many different hues--making them a perfect addition to wedding florals!

Here are a few images that I captured from my vibrant rainbow colored trip:

When it comes to your special day, buoquets play a large role as they appear in many of your keepsake images. Ranunculus add a nice touch to bouquets and here are some I'm currently swooning over:

I love when ranunculus are used in centerpieces and you'll have no problem finding a shade that will complement your color scheme and/or add a pop of color to your arrangements. Below, are some examples of how you can play around with so many options ranunculus provide--

Ranunculus are so exquisite that they work great for personals...

And on that note, I encourage you to go out and enjoy the colors of mother nature--Happy Springtime everyone!

Today we have a blush and dark navy, almost charcoal color palette.  This totally reminds me of chalkboards and Rifle Paper Co..

2015 Wedding Trend :: The Bohemian Chic

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

With wedding season right around the corner, this post is inspired by a trend we anticipate to continue seeing a lot of this summer—the bohemian chic wedding!

When it comes to flowers, we will be seeing more floral arrangements and bouquets made of flowers that look like they have been freshly picked from the garden. Below are some of my favorite bouquets:

Brides and bridesmaids will be wearing flower crowns. For a dramatic effect, we love this:

For brides looking for a more subtle look, these work out perfectly:

And this cake though… What a perfect combination of succulents, ranunculus and anemones!

This is a theme that can also be repurposed for a bridal or baby shower too!

Happy National Proposal Day

In honor of National Proposal Day, here are some of my favorite proposal moments caught on camera...

In my book, you can never go wrong with a destination proposal especially in a romantic city like Venezia. The backdrops for destination proposals are unbeatable!! Here are some of my faves:

Is there such thing as a perfect proposal? It depends on who you ask! The definition of a perfect proposal is going to vary from individual to individual--what is special and meaningful to one couple may mean nothing to the next and that's perfectly okay. At the end of the day, we just want to know that our future husband put some thought into it, actually maybe a lot of thought.

For those not engaged yet, what are your thoughts on an intimate proposal versus a public one? Any preference?

Happy Friday!

Destination Weddings :: Aspen

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

I'm always talking about my love for Cancun and Riviera Maya destination weddings but I was recently invited to lunch with some great Aspen hotels that gave me more info on this pretty, little mountain town.  The awesome part of Aspen is that there are so many things for your guests to do while they're there.  Any destination that has a variety of attractions is a great place so your guests will never be bored. plus it's a vacation for them too right?

Found these images that certainly make me want to visit in this 90 degree Cali heat.
